Lightning is Very Dangerous!
Every year 200 people are killed and over 750 are injured by lightning in the United States.
Since 1959, over 3700 people have been reported killed by lightning. Lightning strikes reach
temperatures of 50,000°F, 4 times hotter than the sun, and can carry electrical charges in
excess of 1 billion volts. Lightning is much more dangerous than other storm risks like
wind or flooding. Lightning danger can arise quickly - by the time you see lightning or hear the thunder,
it may be too late to take precautions.

other weather data like real-time wind speed and direction, solar radiation, temperature, relative humidity,
barometric pressure, precipitation, evapotranspiration, wind chill, heat index, and dew point.
