Ways to Prepare for a Hurricane

No one likes to be without power, but sometimes it happens. Having a game plan can make dealing with outages easier. If you live in an area that may be affected by a hurricane or severe storm, key to remaining safe is proper planning.
Follow these hurricane preparedness tips from Dominion Virginia Power:
Stock up on non-perishable food, medicine, baby supplies & pet food
Have at least 3 gallons of fresh water on hand for each person
Have a battery-operated radio, flashlights, clock & fan - don't forget extra batteries
Familiarize yourself how to safely connect & operate a generator before use
