Our Top Five Favorite Features of Office 365

We come across people every day who rave about Outlook.  People for whom to create a new document is synonymous with cranking up Word.  People who shock and awe with fantastic Power Point Presentations.  And yes, even people who will spend an entire lunch raving about their pretty pivot tables in Excel.  Let it be known that while this is all well and good, it is far from the extent of Office 365’s capabilities and not what we want to talk about over a Cuban Sandwich, Karen…

Office 365 comes with a full list of powerhouse tools that will make you and all of your colleagues more productive.  But it’s easy to stick to the same old habits.  We here at ProActive Information Management (PIM) are here to tell you our favorite features of Office 365 to make sure you are utilizing all you already have at your fingertips!

1. REAL-TIME COLLABORATION

In Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, you can collaborate online with others on your team.  You can change things, add comments, follow one another along or ask questions, ever improving your documents.  Simply save your file to OneDrive or SharePoint so others can work on it with you.  You can even share it directly from the application, thanks to the integrated sidebar.

2. EDITING AND CONVERTING TO PDF MADE EASY

Finished editing your document, spreadsheet, presentation or publication? Converting it to a PDF is made simple with the Save as PDF integrated feature. If you want to edit a PDF, you can convert it into a Word document without the formatting issues that come with copy and pasting or editing.

3. WORKING OFFLINE AND UPLOADING CHANGES LATER Maybe you want to work from the bleachers of your kids’ soccer game.  Maybe you don’t want to pay for Wifi on your flight.  Whatever the reason, the ability to work offline is a great asset within the Office 365 arsenal.  Your OneDrive storage is synced to your device, so you can choose to work offline on files. As soon as you reconnect to Internet, the new versions will be automatically uploaded to your storage. The new version will also be sent to any other connected device.

4. WORKING ANYWHERE FROM ANY DEVICE

Perhaps you didn’t actually mention to your boss little Samantha’s soccer schedule and she thinks you are simply working from home.  And you left your laptop at home so you could actually be present and not have to get all the stares from the “We are perfect parents” brigade.  No worries!  You can correct those docs right from your phone in between Samantha’s corner kicks!  You get access to Office Mobile Apps so you can use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneDrive directly from your smartphone or tablet while you’re on the move. Download them from your Android or iOS device store. 5. TEAMS

We don’t know why more people don’t rave about Teams.  We here at PIM use Teams all day.   We have created multiple channels to track the whereabouts of all of our techs and give each employee the ability to have real time chat that allows us to serve our clients better.  We can also send out quick information or share links to articles that require quick turn around when email sometimes falls flat.  And the chat section acts as a trackable texting feature.  You can share links, documents, memes and gifs all to your heart’s content and it is all searchable. You can even use it to make phone calls or share screens with collaborators.
